By 2020, China will have completed 6.77 million hectares of afforestation, 8.37 million hectares of forest tending, 2.83 million hectares of grassland planting and improvement, and 2.096 million hectares of desertification prevention and control. The national wetland protection rate will reach more than 50%. There are 441 cities carrying out the construction of national forest cities, and the urban per capita park green space area is 14.8 square meters. 180000 kilometers of highways and 4933 kilometers of railways were newly added. Up to now, the national forest coverage rate has reached 23.04%, and the forest area is 220 million hectares. The 14th five year plan proposes that by 2025, China's forest coverage will be increased by more than 1 percentage point from the current 23.04% to 24.1%, and the wetland protection rate will be increased to 55%. The heavily polluted weather and urban black and smelly water bodies will be basically eliminated, and the green transformation of development mode will be accelerated, so that the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission per unit of GDP will be reduced by 13.5% and 18% respectively.
