Recently, the delegation of 8 people from China Resource Development Group visited the Agricultural Department of Hainan Province, and received a warm welcome by Mr. Xu Yun, Leader, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Department of Hainan Province. The other Party introduced Hainan Free Trade Port and the national preferential policies regarding agriculture to the delegation of the Group, and gave many suggestions on the development of agricultural industry. Both Parties reached a preliminary consensus on establishing a global seedling and seed industry base in Hainan, creating a healthy agriculture, sightseeing for the aged, tourism, breeding and planting industry, introducing advanced agricultural technology from abroad, carrying out international agricultural scientific research and establishing a trading center.

Hainan is located in the tropical marine monsoon climate zone with high temperature all year round, very warm and rainy. It is known as the "natural greenhouse" for its early spring and the feature that the temperature rises rapidly. There is no frost throughout the year in Hainan. Also, the winter in Hainan is warm, the rainfall is abundant as well. The crops could be harvested three times a year, and the fresh vegetables could be supplied all around the year. The excellent conditions regarding water, light and heat makes Hainan an ideal base for crop planting and breeding. With its unique advantages in ecological environment, Hainan Province has made great progress in its agricultural industry. In 2019, the added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in Hainan Province was 111.907 billion yuan, increased 2.7% comparing with the previous year. Among them, the agricultural added value was 53.136 billion yuan, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year. The agriculture and tourism-related industries in Hainan Province have broad economic development prospects and huge potential. With the help of various preferential policies of Hainan Free Trade Port and Hainan’s unique geographical and climatic conditions, measures are taken to assess the situation and make full use of local conditions to concentrate advantageous resources. At the same time, utilizing the power of science and technology to realize the upgrading of agricultural industry so as to further improve the efficiency of resource utilization and promote the quantity, the quality and the efficiency of local agriculture is conducive to building a Hainan agricultural as a famous brand on the one hand, and  to activate the coordinated development of other related industries on the other hand.

The development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas is the decisive factor for the comprehensive construction of a well-off society. Relying on resource advantages, optimizing industrial layout, highlighting local characteristics, developing advantageous industries, achieving steady economic development and enriching the countryside so as to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and achieve the common prosperity is imperative. Relying on the guidelines of the Polices regarding agriculture, farmers and rural areas, Hainan Province has made great progress in the construction of new rural areas, the introduction of advanced agricultural technology, the improvement of tropical crops and fruit varieties, and the promotion of agricultural products. The income per capita of the farmers has also increased steadily in the recent years, and the standard of living has also significantly improved.
